the dress from Futuristic Room is made from “modest materials, paper, and clay; celebrating the creative and radical aspects of the black imagination. both insists on making a way out of no way”(Met Description).

In House discussion; issues involving race but do not include people who are not black in the conversation; i.e colorism, relationships between black men and women; creating space for ourselves. Designing our own future without input from anyone else.
