Passing (2021) directed by Rebecca Hall

Easier Acceptance When You’re “Passing” (Hot Take on the film “Passing”)

I believe the film “Passing” was in black and white because black and white people were the biggest themes of the film. The film captured how much easier it is to be accepted in society when you are white versus being black. This differ from Color Struck because the main character Zora Neale Hurston wasn’t trying to pass off as a white woman she actually embraced her blackness while Clare took the route of enjoying the advantages of a white woman versus embracing her blackness. The real question is would you pass for white during that time if you could advance your life?
