And here are additional link and tutorial based on my other courses for how to do a blog post here:
Written Directions for making a post:
- Before writing the blog post, be a focused reader: Read the prompt and take notes (page numbers and passages) while reading the assigned text.
- In WordPress, you can go to Dashboard and click “Posts” then “Add New” or click a “+” to get to the page for a “New Post.”
- To add media such as an image, first click “Add Media”. You can upload or drag and drop. To add a youtube video, all you have to do is copy the link from Youtube and paste it into the body of your post. For further details, here is the following link: (https://make.wordpress.org/support/user-manual/content/media/adding-media-to-your-pages-and-posts/embedding-media-from-other-sites/#easy-embeds-oembeds-and-wordpress)–
- Once you have selected your media, you have an image that looks like this:
- When the image is inserted, a text box in red comes up that says “The alt text for this image…”. Select this textbox and delete it. If you click on the image itself, you may also choose to center or align your image.
- After you insert an image, as a practice, it is good to “Save Draft” or “update” if you have already published the post but have gone back and made edits.
- Read back through your post and write an engaging title based on your post content:
- Choose a category ( required) that indicates which text you are talking about:
- Add 1-2 tags based on the content of your writing. Or choose a tag already created by a peer. Check the tag list to see if others have written a tag you want to use:
- Save Draft if you would like to come back to it.
- Publish by the deadline to get full credit for your work
