My purpose in choosing this controversial issue was to become aware of this issue that would eventually effect me in the future. The establishment of the Close to Home program in my neighborhood will cause me to become concerned about my safety. That is why by becoming an activist, I can help prevent the program from starting.

I am not a New Yorker from birth. I was born in Rome, Georgia in 1997 and soon after my birth, my parents moved to New York City and I’ve been living here ever since I was about 6 months old. I consider myself a true New Yorker by believing that New York City is the best city on earth due to its prosperous businesses.
