This text addresses how the COVID-19 pandemic has made life harder for college students, specifically young adults and those with different life situations. Many students lost jobs in places like restaurants, and online learning made it tough to connect with friends and teachers, causing more stress, sadness, and sleep problems. People who didn’t have much money had trouble going to college, and students who already had a lot to handle with work and family found things even harder. This text is essential to my research due to its impact on students’ jobs, overall impacting their affordability to enroll.

This text discusses how the COVID-19 pandemic has affected college enrollment. Initially, there were concerns that students might not apply due to campus closures and virtual learning. Community colleges, which often help low-income and nontraditional students, experienced the largest decrease. The long-term impact of these enrollment declines on students’ ability to return to college remains a concern. This source is essential to my research because it describes how the pandemic impacted college enrollment, due to the feeling of being unprepared.

Shaffer, Suzanne. “College Preparedness: Recovering from the Pandemic.” CollegiateParent, 17 Oct. 2022, www.collegiateparent.com/academics/college-preparedness-recovering-from-the-pandemic/.
This article talks about how the COVID-19 pandemic still affects students’ learning even after three years. Many students lost a lot of learning time when schools closed and lessons went online. This is making it hard for some students to do well in school and get ready for college. Some students feel unprepared for college classes, and there are concerns about their mental health as well. The article says that these effects might last a long time and could affect students’ future success and the country’s economy. This is essential to my research because it not only speaks on how students were impacted education wise, but as well as their mental health which also plays a factor on how prepared they are for college.
