My name is Michael Moxey. I come from two Bahamian parents and four older siblings. Born in New York city, in a predominately black neighborhood I always felt that I lackIMG_1495ed in knowledge about my own history. I also felt some what sheltered during my earlier years to the struggle of black people due to the lack of interactions with other races.

My investigation into the space of Black activism is fueled by the desire to know my history and to help my future. I hope that my dive into the realm of black activism will give insight to the motives and history of black people and the culture that black activism follows. In my attempt to describe this realm I can’t help but feel it necessary to call it shallow, especially in comparison to the wealth of history there is. I hope the readers of this blog can use this as a starting point to understanding black history and activism.
