WALL STREET OVER THE YEARS

Like many famous streets and roads in the world, Wall Street’s orgins have historical significance. The name is actually derived from a wall that was erected by Dutch settlers on the southern tip of Manhattan Island in the 17th century. The wall was created by the Dutch to protect themselves in an event of war with English and the Native Americans. Although this wall was never used for it’s intended purpose, years after it’s removal it left a legacy behind with the name of Wall Street.
