We have a trial lasting until June 30, 2010 to the the American Antiquarian Society Historical Periodicals. Series 1 includes 550 titles from 1693 to 1820, and Series 2 includes over 1000 titles from 1820 to 1837. Although there are 2 links, once inside EBSCOhost, you can combine the two databases to search them together.
As always, comments on the usefulness of this database for our curriculum and the merits of its contents and search interface are welcome.
We have access to this data for one year on WRDS. Several finance professors and graduate students are eager to use it so they may stop by the desk.
As with our other data available through WRDS, access is limited to the Baruch community only.
We have purchased last semester about about 30 e-books from myILibrary that we have access to via the catalog. This is Coutt’s e-book platform. I have not added MyILibrary to the list of our databases because of the small number of items available at this time, and my sense (and readings) that users don’t necessarily search a book database in the same way that one might search a journal database.

Lexis-Nexis has been updated to its new interface. Please do try it out before the semester starts, and let me know if there are any glitches.
Choice announced that more than 20 publishers now let users browse the full-text of the book that is reviewed. The text cannot be copied, printed or downloaded.
The link “Browse the Book” will appear near any that have the full-text.

We’ve added AP Images to our databases giving users access to images, graphics, audio, and text files that are constantly updated. They can be downloaded and copied.
We have a trial to Plunkett Research Online or PRO. I have attached information on the product.
It will run until 12/16/09 and is available on campus only.
