My Professional profile

In the short term (0-5 years after graduation), I aim to work as a Financial Analyst or within a tech company, focusing on economic development, operations, and innovation. I have had experience in both government and corporate sector. With current role as a Financial Analyst at Morgan Stanley and previous hands-on experience in tech, I have developed an analytical mindset complemented by technical skills in coding, data analysis, and automation. The skills I honed at both institutions, such as financial analysis, process improvement, and technological solutions, will serve me well in leadership positions that require a combination of tech-savviness and financial acumen. I plan to leverage my expertise to drive economic development initiatives, utilizing innovative technologies to address fiscal challenges and improve decision-making frameworks.

In my country, civil rights are not high, so the government is everything. To change a thing, knowledge is not enough. The adaptability, flexibility and social status are my career destination. I decided to combine my knowledge and skills regarding current professional experiences and academic background in technology, finance, and strategic analysis, which align perfectly with my career goals. So for the long term, I aspire to establish myself as a thought leader in the digital transformation space, particularly within government and public institutions. By focusing on tech-enabled economic solutions, I aim to contribute to the development of policies and tools that foster sustainable growth in developing economies, particularly in my home country. I envision myself returning to Vietnam to contribute to my country’s economic and technological progress, I will work in the government industry on a role that blends national development with digital transformation. Cornell Tech MBA program will provide me with the comprehensive, cross-disciplinary approach needed to harness technological innovations for large-scale economic impact. Its emphasis on entrepreneurial leadership and collaboration with the tech ecosystem will be invaluable in building a network of forward-thinking professionals who share a passion for innovation-driven economic progress

In my opinion, the single most important characteristic that leaders for the digital age must possess is adaptability. The rapid pace of technological advancement means that digital leaders need to navigate an ever-changing landscape of tools, platforms, and business models. Being adaptable ensures that leaders can pivot, innovate, and adopt new technologies as they emerge. More importantly, it empowers them to guide their teams through change and uncertainty, fostering a culture that is open to experimentation and agile enough to capitalize on new opportunities. In my experience working in finance, I’ve seen firsthand how adaptability enables organizations to thrive, particularly when digital tools are leveraged to optimize processes and reduce inefficiencies. This characteristic will not only help leaders stay relevant but also allow them to drive meaningful change within their industries.

I have always been self-driven and independent in my academic and professional pursuits. But one of my greatest inspirations came from my microeconomics professor, James Terrence. His enthusiasm for teaching and his passion for economics opened my eyes to how this field can drive meaningful change in the world. He showed me that economics isn’t just about numbers, but about understanding humanity and shaping the future of societies. His influence has driven me to pursue deeper knowledge and apply it in ways that can impact communities globally.

Additionally, beyond my technical and leadership aspirations, there are aspects of my personal journey that have shaped who I am today. Growing up in a challenging environment and overcoming personal obstacles has instilled in me a deep sense of resilience and determination. These experiences have driven me to continuously push myself toward success, whether in academics, my career, or personal growth. I’ve learned that with enough perseverance, no challenge is insurmountable. This mindset is why I have taken a hands-on approach to learning, whether by teaching myself coding languages to create useful applications or by managing projects that improve efficiency in my workplace. I will fill the emotional void and transform myself into a person that everyone admires.
