Our topic of presentation is “Internet Culture”, our group will be describing what is Internet Culture, why we are part of this culture and lastly we will be discussing that how we are affected by this culture. As this is the study of various social phenomena associated with the Internet and other new forms of network communication, such as online communities, online multi-player gaming, social gaming, social media, and texting. We still have to work out on what areas of internet culture should we discuss and make something extraordinary out of this presentation. Our main focus will be to educate and entertain our audience, so they can enjoy, learn and forgive us for our mistakes.

How to make Aspirin?

Aspirin is a miracle drug and one of the most commonly used drug all over the world. Aspirin is inspiring because of its use and advantages on human health i.e. It is used as analgesic (used for minor pain and aches), anti-inflammatory (reduce inflammation), anti-pyretic (reduce fever) and anti-coagulant (blood thinner for heart patients). After carefully researching my best friend research paper, I found that active ingredient of aspirin is salicylic acid which is obtained from the bark of willow tree. In ancient times, Greeks used to make powder of the bark of willow tree and apply it to pain and aches. If you lost in woods and suffering from some kind of pain or fever, then you can make aspirin easily. Rip the bark of a willow tree and set a fire. Start boiling water then place willow bark in that water.

I assumed that writing an essay for CIS 3810 will be an easy task when i first started brainstorming the ideas, as compared to English literature. Reading the material, i jot down some important points which i thought will be my thesis statement and it looks like a piece of cake when i first started. With every example and fact I had in my mind about the thesis statement, I found myself more lost than the beginning. I was frustrated and get some help from the professor and worked my way out. The biggest hurdle for me during writing an essay was to focus on one point and justifying it.

Glass is half empty or Half filled???

Every living human has its own perspective or views about certain things. We, the humans sometime take harsh decision about others just because they have different point of view than our’s. This irony about human nature made me look into this line from The Medium is massage, “The public consists of separate individuals walking around with separate, fixed points of view” (P68).   The image above also illustrates about three separate individual, viewing at same thing but with different aspects. This quote also points out something very interesting “fixed point of views”, which means that humans are so rigid about their opinions and perspective that they don’t even welcome outsider’s thoughts or ideas.
