The memes displayed go beyond amusement. This form of digital media actually displays our society’s views and thoughts on topics which connect us whole as New Yorkers. People identify their thoughts with the thoughts displayed within a meme and relate through “I think the same way!”. This displays the role computers play in our lives and how “computer as part of the routines of everyday life where we talk, exchange ideas, create new kinds of communities, and assume personae of our own creation.” This form of meme sharing can also give users digital liberation due to the fact that “users are allowed for full expression of our inner selves” without any constraints. The connections we make create another community within digital media of which users connect and share.
