Diversity does not stop at just the general population, but continues on into the labor force. Being the “Melting Pot”, New York City houses majority of the minority unionized workers. These minorities, which include African- Americans, Latinos, and other minorities, take the place of the traditional white men. It is not longer the Americans that need to survive now and reach for the pursuit of happiness, but the minority crowd as well. As our city diversifies even more, we will see the variety of ethnicity within the workforce come in greater amounts.
