This story is about a lack of reporting of rape reports. In May, two students in a Bronx elementary school reported sexual behaivior by Anthony Circuolos, a special-ed teacher. About a month later the Police were notified of the suspicions. The police were notified in June, after the mother of the same student that was suspected of being raped called in on suspicion of rape. Mr. Cirscuolos was immediately arrested and is still held at Riker’s Island under $2 milllion bail.
The issue, is the time between May and June, where the issue wasn’t brought forward to the Police. The principal of this school is coming under question by the NYPD.
We learn from this the importance of “See Something Say Something” during our times at Baruch.
