Anna,it is interesting how most refugee are bypassing neighboring Arab countries and heading to Europe. With the exception of Jordan and Lebanon, Middle Eastern countries that have far more resources have been reluctant to take in these Syrian refugees. Yet some are embroiled in the current crisis through their support for insurgent groups. It is my understanding that most of these states have large number of foreigners and is some cases they far outnumber nationals. They claim accepting more refugees will upset their national balance .I also think the Sunni and Shiite divide between these countries is a major standing block when it comes to accepting refugees from Syria.
