  1. Keri,

Thank you for informing not only me but the public about this ever growing topic. The seriousness of this is issue alarming to say the least. I think you did a great job of enlightening us about the this topic and by using the quote ” It is the person you know, the person you have classes with, the person you see at a party” you really spoke to me because people automatically assume you can look at a person and tell they are dangerous when really its the people who you willingly invite into your home who are the most dangerous.

  2. Keri, I think you did an excellent job in demonstrating the seriousness of rape culture and sexual assault on college campuses. In the beginning you wrote about the historical background of this issue, specifically laws surrounding rape culture, which allows the reader to understand where College Campuses are not performing their jobs. You clearly defined rape culture and provided multiple examples of aspects that contribute to the problem. You also provided previous examples of how rape culture has been ignored previously in the past. With all that you have written , I completely agree that rape culture is a growing epidemic which needs to be taken seriously . The part which really caught my attention was when you wrote “instead of teaching people not to rape, we are teaching not to be raped.” I think that quote summarizes the issue as a whole because by making this issue a low priority , we are telling victims that what has happened to them is their fault and they should have found a way to prevent it. However, if this issue had more attention, we would be able to let victims know that its not their fault.
