  1. The issue of burden on long term caregivers was clearly addressed in this memo. It visibly identifies the solutions and problems we can tackle to ease the burden on caregivers. One spends almost their whole life in the care of their parents, now the role has changed where they provide the care to what their loved ones need. The tasks they perform can be increasingly complex. Caregivers learn by trial and error, because they do not have enough training. Families are burdened and overwhelmed because they do 90 percent of the care giving.Maybe you can write about how different cultures or backgrounds on their view about caregivers or current percentage of caregiving. I liked the policies that you have suggested, since there is “no one size fits all” option, caregivers can choose which model fits. However, I would like to suggest a policy that Scotland has enacted-which is the Free Personal care for the elderly. It is one of the most significant achievements that Scotland has endorsed, where local authority pays about 265 dollars per week. It provides personal hygiene, continence management, food and diet, problems with immobility, counseling and support, simple treatments, personal assistance. In addition, it provides nursing care services. Public and private insurance are not sufficient. Medicare covers very little long term care. Medicaid, does not protect financial calamity. The need for long term care is unpredictable and therefore this issue must be addressed.
