Meanwhile, In the Real World….

In this assignment, us students had to get our butts off the computer and venture to the “outside”. Jokes aside, Maker Fair was AMAZING!!!! If i were to rate it out of 10, it would be a 50. I had loads of fun. First, they grab your attention with a GIANT FLAMING ROBOT. Every little boy’s dream come true. Then they invite you to be inspired to see other dreams come true. My favorite invention was Google’s Hugbot. Not only was it adorable; as someone that loves to give hugs, this is something I would call ingenious. Another thing that I loved was the prosthetic arm that responds to muscle movements, perfect for amputees. It was encouraging to see that not only ideas for entertainment are being created, but inventions that address real life problems are also born into fruition.

Not only new creations were showcased at Maker Fair. Old ideas such as Google Glass, or current ideas such as Google Cardboard were also shown at the convention. As a huge fan of Google and their creations, I was ecstatic to see these items shown to the public. I even got to try out Google Cardboard!

How does this relate to the course of 3D design? It helped inspire me to strive to be more innovative and to think out of the box. Creativity, ingenuity, a bit of realism, and a bit of mad scientist, is what I’ve learned to strive to be from this fair.20150927_14180020150927_14083520150927_14581120150927_141152
