After reading the Dada Manifesto by Tzara, the Manifesto of Surrealism by Breton, The Foundation and Manifesto of Futurism by Marinetti, AND the addition SCUM Manifesto by Valerie Solanas you probably have a sense of what kind of genre ‘manifesto’ is and what the purpose of a manifesto is.
A manifesto is about hope as much as it is about anger and disappointment. It is a declaration as much as it is a poem. It is embedded in the present but also looks to the future.
With this and what you’ve read in mind, I would like you to write your own manifesto. This manifesto can be based on something you actually wish to declare, change, or create. It can be a manifesto in support of a movement you believe in that actually exists or one that you have created yourself or would like to create. ( Apt times for this)
On the other hand, it can be completely fictional, silly, and ridiculous if you would like but I would still like it to be thoughtful and satirical if that is the case. (A Manifesto for Cats for example…)
Regardless, I would like it to resemble the manifestos you’ve read and hopefully this exercise will allow you to understand the essence of these manifestos and their purpose in time.
Please post your 500 (or more) word manifesto as a comment here by 5 pm on Sunday November 20th.
I can’t wait to hear these!
How quickly have humans damaged the Earth? Like the classic children’s book by Shel Silverstein, The Giving Tree, the Earth has provided for all of us for hundreds and thousands of years. We are all the little boy in the book, the only difference is we do not love our planet or at least we do not show our love and just keep on taking and taking. Eventually the planet will have nothing left to give and we’ll all face the consequences together. Why can’t we show our love and try to control this fast change in the environment instead of taking it for granted? If not for ourselves, then why not for the future generations to come or are we so self absorbed? There is no point in making a change or discovering anything new if the planet is not taken care of first.
There’s talk and fantasies about living on the Moon or even Mars since water was discovered on these planets, but is that the best solution? Is that how we should be remembered and viewed as the ones who cause a problem and instead of fixing the issue with themselves, just move on to another place and make the same mistakes over again? What if there is no other planet, then what?
Some say global warming is not real. The planet seemed to be doing fine without the intervention from man made operations but now everything is dying and going extinct. If this is not alarming then we need to reevaluate our priorities. It seems that the new president elect does not believe the scientific evidence that man-made climate change is real. But we are stronger in numbers and can use our energy towards creating the change we wish to see. There is still hope, especially with the newer generations taking the place of the older generations. The new generations have a different way of thinking and are able to determine what is a priority problem to focus on because they know what will affect their future, they are the ones who have a future to look forward to.
We can continue to advance our technology and progress as a civilization in searching for new ways to help the climate crisis even more. Inventions are being made constantly and we are starting keep the environment in mind. Solar, wind, water, and more renewable sources are being used for energy and recycling plans are implemented in some areas. We need to all, every country and person, come together and work on a solution. This is just the beginning of a brighter future if we continue to work on this issue. Actually, “if” is no longer correct to use. We are running out of time, now we must take care of this global climate crisis if we wish to continue to have a future.
We are never truly to ourselves. In the digital age that we live in today, technology completely consumes our lives. Phones, laptops, computers TV’s, apple watches, the list goes on and on. Just the thought of these devices and their influence on our society is scary enough to think about, yet people don’t realize the deeper effects these items have on us. It all started after 9/11, when President George W. Bush passed the Patriot Act on October 26th, 2001. The law gave new rights to the U.S. Department of Justice, the National Security Agency (NSA), and other federal agencies to monitor domestic and international electronic communications. The law also broke legal barriers that prevented intelligence and defense agencies from sharing information about terrorist threats, and permitted these agencies to coordinate in response to these threats.
Now this may sound reasonable and justified, considering that the main purpose is to provide safety against domestic and foreign threats. However, this act to this day is being used for more than its intended purpose. Over the years the government has been questioned for going against the civil liberties of Americans, having the ability to tap anyone’s phone, check records, and literally spy on them through surveillance feeds. This law really came into light with the incident of Edward Snowden, a NSA contractor that leaked information about how the agency justified collecting data of millions of phone calls with the Patriot Act. Basically, the government can do whatever they want whenever they want with our personal information and there is absolutely nothing we can do about it. This may leave some very upset and others not even batting an eye. Many say that if someone isn’t doing anything wrong, then there shouldn’t be an issue with the government monitoring your activities. That could be a good argument, but most would say their still against their privacy being invaded.
Although the government may be doing this for protection purposes, there are still many other threats against our society. Forget protecting your wallet getting snatched or your purse being grabbed, we live in at time where we have to worry about hackers stealing our banking information, our social security numbers, and other personal information. All it takes is a few clicks for a hacker to take any information they need to steal you of your money, identity and other belongings. The worst part of it all, you can’t see them coming. You have no idea who they are, and where they’re coming from. The only way you could possibly protect yourself is to limit the amount of personal information you send out on the internet. At the end of the day, if hackers want something, they’re going to do whatever they can to get what they need to steal from you.
You can be by yourself, in your apartment, on the street, completely secluded from any interaction with others. But, if somebody wants to watch you, there’s a hundred different ways they can. We live in a time period that strikes the question, are we ever truly alone?
Manifesto
-From someone who’s always right
Do y’all wanna know what grinds my gears? What gets me tight? Well you better take a fucking seat and listen up. People are always too fucking focused on the idea of saving up. Like, seriously, why the fuck should we be saving money? What for? We’re all gonna fucking die anyways. What’s the point? Am I right or am I right?
Nothing pisses me off more than when someone asks me why I’m spending so much money. Like are you for real? Mind your own damn business. What I do has nothing to do with you, nor it effect you. Do I know you? Get out of my face with all that bullshit. It’s my money and I’m gonna spend it how I want.
If I wanna spend my money on a bunch of useless crap, then so be it. Does that make me a dumb person? Certainly not. If I want to buy extremely overpriced junk, I’m gonna do it and no one can make me do otherwise. If I want to throw away all my life savings (well if I had any) , who are you to tell me I can’t? Keep your opinions to yourself. There’s nothing I hate more than when people try to shove their opinions down ya throat.
I find it funny how people are always telling me to get a job. Little do these assholes know, I’m currently employed full time at World Resorts Casino. I’m in blackjack, bakarat, the slot machines. You can find me anywhere. Have I made any money, no. But who’s to tell me how to spend my money. Am I right or am I right?
Another thing I hate is when people save their money. Why are you not spending it? Why are you not like me? As soon as you get that paycheck, you should already know what to do. Cash that baby in and get to spending! Go celebrate! Go out and get some drinks! Blow it up. Go out and eat, you know there’s nothing better to do with money than to spend it on food. Am I right or am I right?
People are worried about too many things. Savings accounts? College tuition? Thinking about the future? No. That’s stupid. Spend your money as soon as you can. Saving money is wasting money. Be smart and spend.
Many people like to save because they’re afraid of going bankrupt. So what! Get out of your comfort zone! Be as wild as you can, don’t live life in fear. Go hard or go home! Even if you go bankrupt, you’ll still find solace in having lived life to the fullest.
Disclaimer: I hope this goes without saying but I don’t actually talk like this. There are many people who inspired me to write this. This is meant to be satirical. I hope my manifesto was straight forward, I realize that I had a lot of different things going on. Hope you guys enjoyed.
College is a stupid business yet I am in one as I speak. I do not understand the concept of college. You pay to continue your education? You pay to get a degree in order to start your career? You pay for the textbooks in college? What do I pay the school for? You enroll in classes that you do not necessarily need for the career you are pursuing in? I understand that there are certain cases when a person can continue their education for free according to their race, financial status and gender. But its as if the same people who provided us with free education from elementary to high school gave up on us after we get our diplomas.
Applying to college was a heads up of the bad decision I was making. Once again, you pay for your application. Then they want you to see your writing skills by writing an essay to some obscure complicated question. The question be something ridiculous like “Winston Churchill believed ‘a joke is a very serious thing.’ Tell us your favorite joke and try to explain the joke without ruining it.” That was University of Chicago’s essay question. It is all up to the admissions office to decide if you are good enough. A group of people who go through thousands of applications within short periods of time. There are also people you will never see again if you do or do not get accepted. To them, high school students are just pieces of paper with information of what a person has done in their time in high school. All it takes to decline someone’s ambition to continue their education at a college of their choice is a toss to the trashcan. The only way to make yourself stand out is if you file of papers describing your life is more interesting than the other generic student applications.
Not everyone after high school has their life figured out. I am already in my second year of college and I have no clue in what I want to pursue in my life. Living in a South Asian household, college is a top priority. But that does not mean you get a choice as to what college you want to waste your parents’ money on. Most Bengali parents like mine, see their children as investments. Having children with interests in the arts (ahem me) does not look appealing has to children with interests in practical fields like engineering, medical and business. But it does not stop there. Protective Bengali parents like mine want to keep their children close. So any talk of going out of state for college may put your mother in a coma. The combination of tuition prices out of state and the distance between home and the college itself frightens foreign parents like mine. To compromise I chose a cheap business school in the city, the least taxing of the three Bengali parent approved fields. But I can already tell I will regret this decision as I sit in my mundane cubicle staring at a computer screen.

Manifesto of Fanboism
There is a serious problem that is ravaging our great nation. It is problem that has been going on for too long and has been dividing people from medias ranging from film to literature. This problem spawns wars over forums such as reddit and has even gone so far to break up friendships and relationships. This issue is known as Fanboism. You might ask yourself what is Fanboism? By defintion it is the act in which someone or a large group of people take it upon themselves to glorify a certain property of media, regardless of its flaws and mistakes, and will go as far as to say it is better than anyone elses opinion on said property of media.
The greatest example is the ranging war between Marvel and DC. They are both creative properties that originated from comic books. Since the 1930’s comic books have been entertaining people of different ages and ethnicities. Comics have played an integral part in contemporary literature. Comics have tackled issues like illegal aliens coming to the country and becoming a symbol of justice and hope (i.e. Superman), issues involving discrimination similiar to the civil rights movement in the 50’s and 60’s (i.e. The X-men), and even tackled feminism and the fight for gender equality with a character like Wonder Woman. These comics and fictional characters have provided hop for many readers to aspire to make not only their world a better place but even their kids world a better one.
Nevertheless even with these amazing intentions that comic book writers such as Jerry Siegel, Stan Lee, Frank Miller, Chris Claremont, and William Marston had there has been an epidemic that has tainted these creator’s vision. This epidemic known as Fanboism has created wars and conflict over which theatrical adaptation was better than the other. The MCU vs. the DCEU. What makes this worse is that this fanboism even spreads to genres like sci-fi, spawning the war between Star Wars and Star Trek. Yes my friend no one is self out here. What upsets me is that if someone happens to like a movie regardless of the Rotten Tomato scores or what many movie critics deem as unwatchable then they are seen as a fanboy. This type of thinking is very immature. What a lot of people fail to realize is that everyone is entitled to their own opinion and sometimes that opinon might be different from yours. Plus I think it’s great that some of my friends adamantly disagree with me when I think a movie that they didn’t like is great. It opens the door for discussion. You can then talk about what you liked or what you didn’t like without insulting the person’s intelligence or taste. However what makes comics and movies so great is you dont even have to pick a side. Why limit yourself to one brand, why not like both. It’s not like most of the people going to see a DC movie is getting paid by Warner Bros. or the people watching Marvel movies are getting paid by Disney. Your opinon should not be influenced by your love for a certai property. You are able to love more than one thing.
– Manifesto of the Blue and Orange
I bleed Blue and Orange. I put up three to my dome when melo knocks down a three. This is the way of the New York Knickerbocker. I am the Knicks, and so are you. In this city of basketball thrill we all have a bit of orange and blue in our veins. The ups the downs, the losses just make the wins we get that much greater. I say we because, we are one. The Knicks and us, I’ve been following the franchise for twelve years and I can accept that they are the embodiment of the New Yorker. Resilient, stubborn, and strong are qualities which define all of us in the “Big Apple”. I look through my social groups of like minded basketball enthusiasts living in New York City and I see, Cavalier fans, OKC fans, GSW fans, and fans of many different teams. Sure the Knicks may not be the best team around, in fact they’re probably closer to the worst than they are to the best but, they give their heart and that’s reminiscent of the average New Yorker trying to make it here. In a place where rent is high, parking is hard to find, the MTA is overcrowded and hot, and there’s a Starbucks and deli the Knicks resemble what it means to be gritty. As a city and community we have to all begin to embrace the Knicks as our hometown team, so that we can create a sense of unity between our common people. I’ve loved the Knicks since being a boy whether or not we win championships or even make it to the playoffs, and that will never stop because I am a Knick and I am New York embodiment of grit. Being a fan of a basketball team is more than just rooting for a team to win, being a fan is living a lifestyle and adopting a culture that may even be slightly different from yours. Being a fan of a basketball team is being adopted into a new community and having a family of friends who all want similar results as you, to see your team win a championship. As stated on NBA TV’s latest commercial ” The game is life, and it lives on NBA TV”. The game of basketball isn’t a sport anymore, it’s had an impact on millions of lives worldwide and it is continually growing in terms of it’s influence on the global scale and even at home. Here in New York we must do more to support our team, The Knicks so next time Melo knocks down a three raise three fingers and press it to the dome and praise the beast Porzingod as he deserves.
It seems as though increasingly there are only more benefits for people who are considered “low income.” Low income is in quotes because despite being destitute on paper, there are way too many luxury cars parked outside of NYC public housing establishments. I digress, but, as our presidential election has revealed, the taxes which cover social welfare programs do not come from very opulent people nor large corporations. Our upcoming president himself has avoided taxes since 1995, since he is “smart”. Still that leaves us in a state where more and more people are collecting social welfare benefits. We are actually in a state where one is better off on public assistance than actually working. According to “When Welfare Pays Better Than Work” by Michael Tanner, “an unemployed mother with two children can receive a benefit package worth more than $38,000.”(Tanner) This may not seem like a whole lot but it’s basically free money because it is untaxed.
If this is the case I am calling for everyone to stop working. The government is giving out free money. According to Tanner, “Only 27.6% of adult welfare recipients are working.” (Tanner) My problem with welfare is that it is mainly coming from the taxes earned by the, working, middle class. Why is the government forcing us to give money to people who are not making an effort to earn their living? What exactly is this contributing to society? Do you think that it is feasible that beyond the middle class receiving little to no assistance for education, our paychecks are taxed to provide for the education for the non working class? In the end we compete for the same jobs as them. However, the non-working class has the luxury of not having the obligation of having to work and study because the government subsidizes their education costs. Thus, their GPA should be much higher, giving them an unfair advantage. Welfare started under President Roosevelt in the times of the Great Depression, and I am not going to deny that it was necessary. However, we are way beyond that time.
Also, the larger a family is the more assistance it receives. And, I understand assistance has to be proportionate to a family’s size. However, the way our public welfare system works they are giving away free money to families consisting of as many kids as a woman decides to have. Some people are even having more kids just to collect more public assistance. Do not misinterpret me. A woman has the right to have as many children as she pleases. However, if the government will not totally abolish public welfare, they should definitely put a cap on how many children will be sustained. If a working woman has to be mindful to have only as many children as she can maintain and send to college, then why are we maintaining women who are having as many women as they want and sending their kids to college for free?
The United States government really has to rethink the way they are giving out public assistance. We are living in a society of leeches. There is no reason to have families consisting of an overwhelming amount of children living off the government. People should benefit from social welfare proportionally to what they put in. Social welfare is in place to give everyone a fair shot, but this is system is hindering the middle class to give the “lower class” an unfair advantage.

Manifesto of Technology. We are remarkable as a species, remarkably lazy. We have been around for oh-so long. We have seen the rise and fall of many great empires and its rulers. We have greeted our sun over and over. But one thing never changes.
The age we live in is unique and it goes by many names. The Information Age, the Computer Age, and the Digital Age. Advancements are unparalleled to all of human history. Advancements in medicine, technology, and science. There is so much we have learned in recent years, yet we have barely tapped into what there is to know. Only the surface of the fountain of knowledge has been touched. All this information and change can simply be accessed through our fingertips. Figuring out what the cost of electricity is in Dubai or what kind of a potato Buzzfeed thinks you are, accessible in seconds on our phones. We also understand more mathematics, physics, astronomy, chemistry, than ever before. It is this accumulation of human history, technology, and desire to better ourselves, that has left us in this new age.
Tools were first developed to make the job at hand easier, simpler and more efficient. Humans who lost their jobs to tractors, plows, and horses, specialized themselves in fields. Fields of academia, medicine, and design. Human innovation did not stop at tractors, plows, and horses. Our forever-burning desire to advance ourselves for the better and for the lazy, has left in a world of automation. A world where humans are no longer needed. Humans were always so lazy. Oh-so lazy but this is it. Where we have factories of people producing clothing, equipment, or food, and the employers having to pay minimum wage, now is no longer necessary. We have robots who can work for mere pennies in cost of electricity vs minimum wage of a whiny, fleshy human. The taxi driver driving or the uber driver driving, or even you driving is no longer necessary. Humans kill other humans over a million times annually in automobile accidents. But the future of cars, self-driving cars, have killed no one and have been in no accident caused by the car itself in millions of miles and years of testing. We have self-driving cars that do not get stupid and sleepy which cause accidents. I don’t scare you? You cannot be replaced? Your job is too special? That is what the horses thought when the silly box with circular rubber attached to it began rolling down the streets.
The theme of robots and A.I. beating us in cost, time, efficiently, and accuracy is not over yet. Lawyers do not spend all of their time in courts. Most of their time is spent mindlessly trudging through endless pages of documents. Robots do the job better, robots don’t get tired, sleepy and make mistakes. But I am a doctor. I can’t be replaced. You are one of the hardest working people in our world, working tirelessly to qualify and begin to understand the role, yet, you have only the faintest idea. To be successful at your job, you need to understand what every drug does, and how every drug interacts with each other and the patient’s history. It is not humanly possible, it is not humanly possible to read and comprehend millions upon millions of medical journals, clinical trials, and new research. But doctor robots can and are, they are already doing the job better than humans. Okay, I got you now. Sure doctors, lawyers, and manual laborers can be replaced. But you can replace creativity? Right? Top writers, composers, musicians, and artists went head to head against artificial intelligence. In blind tests, in all categories, the robots again win in terms of time, efficiently, and rank.
Now on the job hunt, “Humans need not apply.” (CGP Grey)
Every day I wake up with the vision of the successful person I want to be in the future. With this vision, comes with an overwhelming sense of worry, criticism from others, sacrifice, and ambition, etc. I have come to realize that there will be many trials and tribulations along the pathway to success, and through perseverance, I should question the real aspects that pertain to it. Furthermore, I am writing this based on the epiphany I experienced during this semester involving the immense workload that I have consented to, and the realization of “self” that I like to explore.
“There is no beauty except the struggle.” – Marinetti. This quote resonates deeply to me, because with the sacrifice of time, sleep, and freedom that comes from working full-time and going to school, I have seen much improvements in my ability to recognize who I am as a person, and how I will move towards progress in the future. Patience, good virtue, and being humble are some of these improvements. Every obstacle or failure I have come across has taught me the value of getting better and accepting that “Ego is the enemy” – Ryan Holiday. In addition, Sigmund Freud has stated before, “(Since at least from man’s birth until his death, thought offers no solution of continuity, the sum of the moments of dream, from the point of view of time, and taking into consideration only the time of pure dreaming, that dreams of sleep, is not inferior to the sum of moments of reality…) This has led me to believe that my actions will reflect truly who I am, and just the simple idea of success will not allow me to become the person I hope to be.
What I hope to see change in, is the dehumanization of what technology and the fast pace of getting ahead has brought us. I find myself going through the same routine day in and day out. This needs to be addressed more, because society as a whole will become “robotic-like”, and we cannot afford to lose that. We have to stop criticizing others on what they have or what they lack. We should be mindful on what goes around us and help those that are struggling. Humanity will see many changes for the better if we work together, and contribute more.
However, the first question that I should have asked is “What is success?” Personally we are all individuals that have our own self interests. Right? Who is to tell us what is successful and what’s not? Personally being financially independent and being open minded to all those who I encounter briefly defines what success is. We the people in the United States live in a very diverse country which hold many values and beliefs that may conflict with each other. As a person who is willing to learn on a higher level of education, I have learned to accept those difference and live my life as I see fit.
NOT NOW, NOT EVER manifesto
In times like these, with a silly wig for president, an empty community and a puppet for human emotio, we are all lost in a world without purpose.
Humans are the most vicious and aggressive creatures on this planet, we take and burn and corrupt easily. Why we do so? because it is in our wretched nature. Where we conquer lands to “save civilization” we bring illness to native americans or more oppression to Iraqui woman or less options to homosexuals.
We strive to make room for more without listening to everyone. There are not enough resources for everyone, so those with mobey hog them. There is not enough life for everyone, so we find a way to lengthen it. There is not enough light from the sun, so we take its power to make more. Credit due, we are clever souls, working together to get us more, but thats not the point. Everyone wants to see the light and live forever and hold a gokden torch, but we do not have that same hope for all of those around us. Our selfishness brings us success but lonliness. We can never have it all, it is a part of life.
The worst part of being a person is the need to belong with something, another half or a team or a family. It holds us to a social restraint, we cannot go off and tell a stranger of our sins and desires, we must conform to our parents biased eyes, we lack imagination. we lack courage to break rules. Only a few are truly born as rebels, and those may fall into a dictatorship of others quickly.
Humans are flawed at the core, because no matter how we are raised or what illusion of safety we may feel, we all share the desire to control. It is not always a negative thing, however obviously dangerous it may seem, our flaws are not all of us.
But we do not have to be forever empty, experiences can bring us new feelings and ideas. Memories can fix our flaws, history can teach us. The future is what causes overpopulation, poor politics, discrimination, our fear of being alone, as a country or as a person isolates us and kills is slowly. If we could revert to our caves of memories and stories, we can find new paths to take.
To do so, one must have faith in the past, more than the future. One must open their eyes and hearts to the lives of those before them, to see what has already been seen to shape it differently.
Back when there was no two party system or strict status standards or even gold, people fell in love more than they do now. Small moments and objects had more meaning. Although there are more situations and people to experience in modern days, there are less emotions. What people forget is that it is not the present that shows us the future, it is the past. We must not forget what makes us human, not now, not ever.
No, you cannot buy love! I feel bad for the people who even go inside a breed pet shop. Why? Because they are uneducated people who live in a bubble and don’t know anything about these pets who come from a breeder. You cannot go in the store and buy a puppy! You don’t buy a husband or wife or a baby at a store, why would you buy a pet? People see those cute little puppies in the window display and only see how cute they are! They have no idea! I will tell you that you don’t buy love or give a puppy a home, instead you are paying for torture! You probably didn’t know that these dogs come from puppy mills which is a commercial dog breeding facility where profit is given priority over the health and safety of the dogs. Puppy mills breed dogs in overcrowded and unsanitary conditions without proper veterinary care, food and water. To achieve more profit, female dogs are bred at every opportunity, and they are given no recovery time between litters. Your body couldn’t survive if you had babies after babies with no recovery in between! Dogs are being treated like a trash, they are being beaten, tortured and they have to live in a tiny cage where they can’t even turn around. The dogs that live there are not given enough food and water. And if they become useless, a heartless person would just kill them off by beating and stabbing them until they are dead. Oh, did I forgot to mention that their fur is being used to produce fancy clothes after they become useless. How would you feel if someone would do that to you or your family? Exactly! Almost every dog who comes from a puppy mill is most likely to have heart disease, disorders and other health problems. And when they arrive in their new home, people often realize that the puppy suffers from parasites or pneumonia. Therefore they fear that the puppy is going to be sick and medical expenses will pile up and a lot of dogs end up in the animal shelter because they can’t effort covering the expenses. Because puppies are taken away at a very young age from their mothers, they also suffer anxiety and fear. Why people are so blind and don’t see what’s really going on? How many more animals have to suffer? Just visit an animal shelter and adopt a dog! Don’t we have already enough animals that are homeless? We probably have more than 10,000 puppy mills in the US and millions of dogs in the shelter which are being euthanized because the shelters are overcrowded. Shelter dogs don’t have a chance to find a home because people don’t stop buying them. A lot of people say they want a specific type of dog and that’s why they go to a breeder instead of the shelter. But does it really matter? No one goes in a baby store and buys a specific type of baby! So why would you do it with a dog? For the sake of all animals stop buying them from a breeder! Adopt! Andrew Smith said “People fear what they don’t understand and hate what they can’t conquer”, therefore I’ve declared that no one is allowed to be afraid of immigrants. It isn’t immigrants that are taking your jobs, but your lack of knowledge and desire to obtain one. Below is a list of the phrases that can no longer be used in our society as they only add to the rhetoric that immigrants are here to damage the country when in fact, they contribute more to the economy of this country than certain billionaires who shall remain nameless… Hi Donald Trump, we still want your taxes. Anyone who uses any of the following sentences should be “punished” with 100 hours of community service for an organization of their choosing just as long as its main focus is to help immigrants or as you like to call them “illegals”. The person whose lips utter these words should then face his BIGGEST fears of foreigners, with an open mind that they may or may not be positively affected by the “immigrant experience”:
“Illegals” is not a noun and no human should ever be labeled illegal. From now on the formal way to refer to someone living in a country without the proper documents should only be “an immigrant who is living here illegally” or “an undocumented immigrant”. The term “illegals” is only made out of fear, just like the “boogeyman”.
“Get to the back of the line” there’s no such thing as the back of the line, this model has been outdated for almost 100 years now and it traces back to Ellis Island. There is no general purpose line in which anyone can just take a number and become a United States resident and then citizen.
“Anchor Baby” this term should NEVER be used to describe a child born in the U.S to a mother without citizenship. A mother should never be blamed for wanting a family and wanting a better future for their family.
“You speak Spanish? What part of Mexico are you from?” Not everyone who speaks Spanish is from Mexico, it is not our fault that your school failed to provide this information in your Geography class.
“In America we only speak English” Although in America the main language is English, anyone is entitled to speak in whatever language they prefer and this should not be considered un-American.
“If you love your country so much, why don’t you go back?” Embracing your heritage doesn’t mean you don’t love the United States. Being proud of where you came from isn’t un-American. It’s like having to pick one ice cream flavor between vanilla, chocolate and strawberry when you can easily have all three and your experience will only be enhanced by the mixture of such flavors.
Manifesto of Life.
Your life is YOUR life, not someone else, so why do you have to live it the way others want? Or why do you have to follow certain norms and law? You are told as little that you can be whoever and whatever you want, but as you grow-up your realize that is not true or at least it’s not so simple. As soon as a person do something that is not right in society, they are the judge. Apparently, your life has to follow a guideline, and you must go step by step like if it was a bed frame, you were pulling together, but who says that? Why do we have to follow a pattern and live our lives step by step? Why do we first have to live our childhood, go to school, then go to college and then because you completed those phases of your life and went through all of that, that is when you can finally start living your life. That is when you start and have a boring, but well pay job, that most likely you don’t even enjoy because you were forced to finish college with a high GPA and graduate with a degree in something you just choose because you were running out of time and needed a career. That is the point when you are supposed to begin to have a family because

That is when you start and have a boring, but a well paid job, that most likely you don’t even enjoy because you were forced to finish college with a high GPA and graduate with a degree in something you just choose because you were running out of time and needed a career. That is the point when you are supposed to begin to have a family because you already have graduated from college, have a career and a well-paid job. And then you can have kids that later on will also have some kids; that will make you into a grandparent and all of the sudden you become old. After years and years of living, it’s time to die, and there is nothing you can do to prevent it but to accept it. You start thinking about the boring life you have lived because you have been living your life the way you are “supposed” to and you realized that all those past years you had not lived it your way. Why do we have to live the way other want us to live? Why is it that through all of our live we have to be judge and not seen as a unique person, but more as not doing it right? Why does our life have to follow norms and law? There is nothing wrong with living your life the way you want it because it’s YOUR life and not someone else. Live your life the way you want it and if you want to make a mistake go ahead do it and don’t try to fix those mistake just because others tell you too. If you don’t feel like doing something in life, then don’t do it and don’t explain anyone why you did it because that is none of their business it’s not their life therefore not their business. Live and don’t look back, don’t regret things and just keep living, but also don’t listen to me because it’s YOUR life, not mine, so do whatever you feel like.
If you have seen me for who I truly am, you will pay dearly. The moment the façade breaks apart, everything falls and all hell breaks loose. Suspense temps us into a mysterious abyss, which makes us wonder, who are we in this world? What is our purpose? Is it to be free? If everyone believes that freedom is a plain as a declaration on a constitution, they must be American. True freedom is having the ability to sneak underground, witnessing how the system itself operates, and once you are able to understand this system you are dominate over it and in control. Freedom is being control of the system. Not playing by the rules of the game, but creating YOUR OWN game. If life is a maze from point A to point B, why go through the difficulty of the maze when you can fold the paper in half and bringing point A to B. Creativity is linked to free will because it is the fundamental element in the creation and interpretation to memory. Memory is our programing code which dictates what we know is true. This is freedom… Once truth. Fate itself is unpredictable and it is this mysterious essence which embodies the infinite possibilities and paths in ones life. Their cannot be restrictions or borders, only the virtues of what is to be true or not. It is being able to connect the moments of right or wrong in a way that benefits not only oneself but the betterment of the human race.
What is this world, what’s humanity? Well for one it has selfish people and those who only care about themselves and not others. Men, women and even children die every day. No sympathy no feeling, is this an Injustice world. What is wrong? Something’s wrong, something needs to be fixed. what do these kids receive? why do they deserve this hardship life? They are kids they deserve to play, have fun, and hope for a good future. They are in an opposite situation. They are in another world where they sleep and wake up feeling hopeless and to see people dying every day. they are waiting for their turn to die as well. Nobody cares about them, even when we see them on the TV we feel sorry for them for a few minute or for a few days, but nobody offers something to help. And suddenly we forget everything about them and enjoy our life.
Shame on us to be selfish, to be careless to be blind and see only what makes us happy and forget everything that makes us feel sad.
This world becomes a scary place because evil takes over many places and starts to fight humanity with all its power. It seems to be a good fighter because it separated us so it can continue to grow stronger. It knows if we get together, of course, we will win and kick it out of our world. If anyone puts himself in the shoes of all the innocent people that suffered and are still suffering from wars and injustices situations, we definitely will do something for them. We will save these kids from the miserable life that they have.
Peace is our solution, without peace, there is no life and no future. Don’t be selfish. Be a human and save humanity. People think they are far from them, don’t care about them. They need to fix their problem. Injustice is like a disease, it’s spread. And may affect everyone. We need to be aware of everything and we should help if we can and we should save what is left before it’s too late.
We can do a Lot of things if we want. As a government and as an individual. We can start by offering Help and support because we don’t know what’s in store for our future. Could you imagine kids that grow up watching all this blood, everywhere and crimes as well. This kills their future and perspective of this world. They will grow up hitting all this world. So because of our careless and negligence we are going to have some effect on switching the life of an innocent kid with a good future man who has a good impact to his community, his country and for the whole world to someone who hates everybody and wants people to suffer the same that he or she and their family were suffering. So wake up and watch what is happening and try to change something because everyone in this world deserves a peaceful life.
Recently, a friend of mine said something about how there is equality in the United States for all people and it should be something that we should be grateful for. Yes, I do understand that we have more “rights” than other people do in different countries but I don’t think equality is something that has ever existed in this country, especially with how things are now with everything that has happened recently. From the start, this country didn’t have equality as women were not treated the same as men were treated at first, and how people of colored skin were treated differently just because they were born with it. Even now, we see hate crimes happening against minority groups in different parts of the country, and these people have to suffer just for being who they are. After watching the results of the recent election, I started to think that this country has never changed and how people still choose to separate rather than unite. First is the issue with immigration. This country was formed by the immigrants who were fleeing themselves from religious persecution and yet when they came here, they were using colored people as slaves, and even after slavery, colored people weren’t treated fairly and weren’t given the same rights. Centuries later, immigrants are once again in danger because people think they don’t belong here, even though some people came here to flee from persecutions in their own country and/or to have a chance to live a better life. And yet, people are still trying to deprive the immigrants a chance to settle here because they are “afraid” of them. But one thing that I think people should remember is that our country was created from people that wanted a chance to live a better life. I mentioned immigrants with how there was never equality in this country because a lot of people do not know how some of these immigrants live. People are complaining now that the immigrants are taking all of their jobs but what they don’t know is how much harder they need to work compared to other people. In many aspects of society, immigrants and other minority groups are treated unfairly and it requires a lot more effort to be given a chance to be accepted into society. I don’t think it is impossible to have complete equality, although it is highly unlikely to happen. But there is no reason for one to think of the minority groups as “less” because at the end, aren’t we all human beings? Why should one be treated differently just because they are different from you? In order for our society to move on to the next level, people have to start realizing that hating on a specific group of people will not solve your problems if you don’t work hard to get what you are aiming for.
Manifesto of chaos….
Why Settle for the absolute lowest that life must offer? The time has come to confront the issues that has stifled generations for centuries. The tolerance of his kind will never be accepted. Society has given, but has also taken away all that has been accomplished. The stance should be one of understanding, love, peace and unity. For many tried to blend in and others have fallen at the way side, but where do you want to be? That stigma that attaches itself to young men and women alike, parallels the struggles that encompasses them. There is hope, hope that will open doors to a brighter future, a future where your head can be held high and the confidence that you seek, will shine bright as your aura.
Stop looking at me as if I’m some type of creature. Stop looking at me as if I don’t feel. I love you, just as much as you hate me. When was that chance ever given? Tell me, extended opportunities you revoked. Just the Japanese, the Mexicans, The Syrians and all those, that seek your comfort.
Brought here in the name of conquest, after you went and slaughtered a people that thrived, and till this day, they still suffer from your hands. Land of liberty, is what we should be.
I sit back and wonder, that black cloud that often follows those of a darker skin. I bleed blood too, breathe the same air, but what is sought, if you open up and look into their hearts, are true friendships and opportunities that are not equally extended. That hardship and pain, laughing but really crying, plenty of friends, but a loner. Middle Class, upper class and some of whom have no class, have pointed fingers and treated another being with contempt. Broken families that flood their communities, I feel their discomfort sometimes, but in reality, failure is not an option, I can’t play the blame game anymore. What one must realize psychological challenges has been set in place. So what, let’s get it.
Challenges may come, but belief in self is key to the accomplishment of whatever tasks that await. The ability to reason has come to the forefront. The perception of humanity has been questioned, because stereotypes has been placed ahead of every step taken. The culture inherited is not a culture that can be easily digested.
The time has come to be disciplined, be calm and be still, but never stop fighting for what you want. Effort has everything to do with your success. Pain creates greatness and failure is temporary. No one should convince you of what you know you must do. The blue print is simple and quite clear in the pursuit of your dreams, but make your dreams a reality. Life is still being written, and the exposure of becoming who you set out to be is inevitable. How bad do you want it? You’re still in the process of becoming. It is your responsibility to make your dreams come true. Never let another stagnate your growth.
