Research

Professor Medved’s scholarship focuses on issues work-life communication from gender and feminist theoretical lens. She has published studies and essays on various topics, including: breadwinning mother and stay-at-home father couples, working mothers’ identity struggles, infertility and identity, single-employee workplace backlash, and work and family socialization.

Her research has appeared in outlets such as Women’s Studies Quarterly, Women & Language, Management Communication Quarterly, Communication Yearbook, and Journal of Family Communication. She is past editor of the Journal of Family Communication (Taylor & Francis).
