Letter to Strangers is a global youth-run nonprofit seeking to destigmatize mental illness and increase access to affordable, quality treatment for youth aged 13 to 24. There are two scholarships open for the 2022-23 academic year.

Letters to Strangers Mental Health Changemaker Scholarship

Eligibility:

1) You are currently enrolled (or will enroll no later than the Fall of 2022 unless deferring on a gap year) in an accredited post-secondary institution of higher learning (college, university, or trade school)

2) You have done or are in the progress of proactively doing acts or events consistent with Letters to Strangers’ organizational mission statement. This includes choosing to major in a mental health-related field (psychology, psychiatry, social work, etc.) and/or engaging in personal mental health advocacy/activism

Note that during this application, we will ask you to provide the following:
– Your most recent transcript
– Your resume and any letters of recommendation are *optional*

Letters to Strangers Mental Health Warrior Scholarship!

Eligibility:

1) You are 18 years of age or older

2) You have demonstrable difficulty due to finances, location, or other restrictive means to access or utilize professional mental health services. Please note that your need will be verified if you are selected as the winner, and any Entrant who cannot provide adequate proof as judged by Letters to Strangers will be ineligible for the award. (For example, if you have financial needs, you would need to provide documents such as income statements.)
