Copying passage:

Marry Juetten “None of us get to where we are in life without some level of grit and perseverance. There are those of whom more is unfairly asked in the way of perseverance by virtue of their birth, and others for whom advantages are immediately accrued by that same birth, but with few exceptions all will face challenges great and small throughout their life, ones that we simply have to push our way through. On those occasions our intellect and ambition may help us navigate the challenge, but it’s our ability to withstand those trials that will ultimately see us to the other side.

The life of our businesses often play out much as life itself does: we try, we fail, we get lucky and fall onto bad luck and occasionally make our own luck, and eventually everything ends one way or another. Things will break against you and your business far more often than you’d like, and probably more than you feel is fair. In times like that we have to be able to put our heads down and keep at it when it might seem easier to give up, or more cathartic to sit in your office and complain about the unfairness of the universe. Occasionally those bad breaks will be of your own doing; mistakes are as much a part of your business as they are of life, and sometimes those mistakes have consequences in the immediate and down the road. We could again just give up and throw in the towel, but instead we persevere and work to correct what we can and work past what we can’t.”

After Inspiration:
In my personal experience, as I dedicated myself to pursuing my accounting degree, I became more aware of how one’s health can unfold during one’s academic journey. Undoubtedly, hard work and perseverance comes with great rewards. But they can come with a price that can trigger a wide range of positive and negative health. While others may find satisfaction in their achievements, others may grasp with intense feelings of regret. The pursuit of education often carries an opportunity cost that can lead to various actions and responses. In which it has the potential to create feelings of discontent and place significant stress on one’s mental health, especially in light of financial burdens.

Reflection:

After copying out the passage of a case article that I was doing for my other case I realized that there was a big comprehension barrier between me and the article. The way I read the article and compared it to my teachable moment prompt I do believe that the quality of the article was a bit better because it was more analytical and that my piece was more of a informative piece. The reason I say a bit better was because the article was a bit sloppy in giving me the right answer that I am looking for; and that if you read my prompt I am more straight forward, and it be easy in what I am trying to show you in learning about a teachable moment and how that teachable moment can be carried throughout your life.

Writing:
To dive in deeper, I conducted a survey among 100 of my peers, exploring their perseverance in relation to their chosen majors. The result reveals that the majority of my peers expressed regret regarding their academic choices and wanted to switch to more demanding career paths. While the survey focused on academics and career choices, it also sheds light on the mental constraint that many students face such as depression, unhealthy thoughts, undergoing rounds of self incompetence, etc. After seeing these results, I can see the correlation between my peers’ struggles and my own perservance. It is through self-reflection and careful consideration to pursue a career as a public accountant, fully aware that this decision will require me to confront and overcome the challenges that lie ahead.

After workout/shower:
After being fully committed to my accounting career. I wanted some career advice from people that consistently work hard and continue to learn and grow. After doing some research I found a well-known millionaire named Manny Khoshbin. Hearing the words from his childhood story of how he started from nothing and worked his way to becoming one of the world’s wealthiest men really inspired me to work very hard in my accounting career.  With the motivation I got from him I was able to effectively work on my studies and continue to push for success as my goal is to become a CPA and be able to influence many others into the importance of perseverance and how it will help you in the long run.

Reflection:

After taking a cold shower my body felt so comfortable and I was able to really work on my prompt and have inner thoughts. I see a big difference in the writing being that the weather also affects the performance of the individual especially this month of September where it’s so humid every day I just felt like not doing work at an efficient pace and just sleep all day. After taking a cold shower I felt the energy and motivation back in me and I just started typing nonstop to a point where I got a lot of it done. It just needs minor editing and feedback than I am good to go. I plan to do this more often and test different ways to up my motivation to do work in order to efficiently be more productive.
