Overall Personal Reflection

This is going to be the hardest blog post to write so far. I have learnt so much throughout this course that its going to be difficult to touch on every subject. Starting off from reading Fabricated i learnt a ton about where the 3d printing industry is now and were it can be with the right amount of innovation. Starting this class i wanted to get an understanding about what is possible in 3d printing and to learn how to create objects in 3d software and print them out. I’m happy to say that i was able to accomplish both of these goals plus much more. Heading in i new i could handle the entrepreneurship aspect of this class but i was worried if i would be able to keep up with the design aspect. The first time i used sketch up i was very confused, but shortly after Zoey walked us through creating simple objects and i felt much more comfortable. Its amazing to think that i went from designing a simple block to creating a water bottle cap with my head on it. I’m happy to say that this class was like nothing i have ever done before. i do not enjoy just sitting through lecture after lecture. i like taking classes that challenge me and that’s what this class did. if i could give myself one piece of advice before starting this class it would be to keep my mind open and don’t be scared to design something different and challenging. Another way this class is different is that for a lot of classes once you finish the final you forget everything you learnt. In this class i am going to always have the design, entrepreneurship, and 3d printing knowledge with we, and i will definitely be able to use what i learnt to shape my future.
