Growing up on Staten Island and having lived nowhere else my whole life, it was a different transition into understanding and navigating the rest of New York City as Staten Island is so unique from the rest of the city it belongs to. The older I’ve become, the more I realize how differently my peers from other parts of the city have experienced the same “city life” from me, but similarly to each other. I became the outcast and now am able to shed light on the towns  I am familiar with and enlighten others about the wonders of a place so often referred to as “forgotten”.
