1) In “The Judgment”, Georg is very absorbed by the interactions he has with his father and the environment around him, with the belief that that is his reality. Is Georg in a position similar to the prisoner in Plato’s Allegory of the Cave, why or why not?
2) Do you think Gregor Samsa completed the Heroic Journey at the end of the story? Why or why not?

Hi!
I liked your first question! I felt as though it is very creative and can be written about based off of many different views. You can definitely say that Georg was like the prisoners in the Allegory of the Cave, especially when his father tried to show him the real reality, and Georg was so enraged he committed suicide at the end. You can talk about the significance of the ending of both and compare them together. However, you can also focus on each of their perceived realities and how it effects them (Georg and the prisoners) in similar ways.
