Assignment #3

During high school I was in a program called JROTC which was a Army program that taught students about leadership and teamwork. Although, the students were not actually apart of the military, the program incorporated part of the military like ranks, drill, promotion board, etc. There was always power play when it came to ranks. People with higher ranks held positions and had authority to command their subordinates. So the battalion commander commands the entire JROTC which consist of about 1,000. Freshmen start the program in the beginning are ranked as privates so anyone rank higher has authority . As the ranks go up, the person gets more subordinates to command. The ranks showed who had the power and authority. This created a chain of command where authority was passed down.  Also our decorations on our military uniform also portray power play. People with more medals, ribbon, and tabs on their uniform had more accomplishments. The decorations gave off the feeling that they were in charge and superior than those who had no medals or ribbons.
