Chipotle advertisement
Damilola Babarinde-
I had to watch the advertisement three time on three different devices because i thought the colors were a bit weird. However, after watching three times, it led me to conclude that the design artist made the advertisement look “pale” to show how effective their message is. At the beginning of the advertisement the colors yellow, red, blue, and green which were the colors that were mostly used, looked washed-out. At the end of the video when the scarecrow was picking the red pepper, the color red here was brighter. This shows how if we took proper care of the animals and plants and if people give more care to the things they eat, the world could be more beautiful and brighter.

The Scarecrow advertisement takes place somewhere in the countryside where there is a concentration of industrialization. The scarecrow is shown to work inside GMO meat processing factory, where he realizes the horrors of factory animals. This is paired with the song, Pure Imagination, which gives off a creepy vibe to the viewers. Many people ignore the horrid process that animals go through to become their food, however, with this vibe and animation it makes viewers feel sympathetic towards the animals and acknowledge the horrors. I felt that the music was the most important factor in this advertisement because it pulled the entire video together and was extremely effective in communicating Chipotle’s message across.

The animated advertisement is a product of Chipotle Mexican Grill, a company many of us are familiar with. The animation revolves around an Iphone game and it is effective because viewers connect emotionally with the ad. What I found most interesting and effective were the 2 characters: the metal crow and the scarecrow. These 2 characters give the viewers a glimpse of a world in which our food is processed and controlled by big corporate companies. The way they control their livestock is inhumane and this little story reminds us of the world we live in. The metal crow represents the companies while the scarecrow represents the labor and consumer. The crow orders the scarecrow around while the scarecrow sees the inhumane ways the livestock is treated. He has no say in how food is processed, until he starts to make his own homegrown food right from his kitchen.
I believe that the corporate world do not think about our well being. Us as the society, the community need to educate ourselves on some ideal factors of what is ruining the world that we live in, being ignorant and nonchalant is the main reason why they take control of us. We are being taking for granted, we are being remotely controlled in a sense that we can’t even think for ourselves. In my prospective they aren’t doing anything wrong because we as the nation are supporting their abusive morals. We live in a society that there’s no ingenuity no form of architectural values that we hence our human abilities on to help build a better world. As they say leave a place better than the way you found it…

I thought this commercial was one of the most creative, moving pieces I have seen. I get that Chipotle’s vision to is make the world a better place by caring about what they feed to their customers. It gave me idea that there has to be an element of love to save our environment and in turn to save other beings and ourselves. I saw the scarecrow as Chipotle, an entity that has the right intention at heart but did not always have the power to change how they ran their company to make a positive effect on the world. The symbolism was powerful. The scene were the animals were being abused effected me mostly because they are said to be the creatures that humans reign over in intelligence, yet we act as if we have none by using barbaric measures we don’t have to use in order to produce food. Everyone point of view on this was intelligent and well verbalized.

I’ve actually seen this commercial before and was completely in love with this. It was one of the most creative, innovating visual advertisements I’ve watched. Chipotle did a great job of showing the inside of big corporations, and how unreal their advertisements are. Stating that all these foods are “farm-fresh” and even the stamp on the package of meat that said, “100% beefish”. It showed what had motivated Chipotle to start out their own company, and why they work the way that the do. This advertisement as the others have said is extremely powerful. It showcased how big corporations treated their animals poorly, thus, in a chain of events will also treat the customers poorly. Overall, this is by far one of the most insightful and moving advertisements.

I thought the method in which this game was advertised is very interesting because of the strategic way everything was set up. For example, I liked that you guys mentioned the inhumane nature behind GMO-stuffed animals. I thought that the advertisement was still quite contradictory because of the fact that Chipotle is run on the consumption of animals. The ad showed that it is unjust to alter animals so that they can be more anticipated for indulgence. It does open the eyes to the viewers that the world we are living in is responsible for the negative actions taking place, as was shown by the immorality towards animals. All in all, I thought that the advertisement by Chipotle was very clear in its message, as well as in promoting the scarecrow aspect for the game.
This advertisement delivered a clear message in food production. It’s telling us to be cautious in choosing our food. We trust advertisement so much that we look to buy food with labels like “farm-fresh”. In reality, the corporations process food in a way to make them more profitable but not concern about the potential health risks to the consumers. In the contrast, Chipotle cares very much about its consumers and grows healthy ingredients. It is a very successful advertisement not only promoting the food Inc. but also advertising the game at the end.
The commercials for games that I have seen are fast paced and usually do not include an entire story, unlike this one. This commercial was able not only tell a story but also able to describe what Chipotle is and what it stands for. In a world that runs on inorganic food that is advertised as being 100% “real”, the scarecrow was able to stand out by selling it’s natural food made out of real ingredients. The graphics of this commercial were also captivating. It was detailed and appealing to the eye, using colors that supported the moods portrayed.
At first I couldn’t tell that the advertisement was for a game. While watching the ad, I picked up on some of the labels that was put on the food such as “100% beefish”. Since this was a Chipotle commercial, I assume that they are marketing the meat that they use in their food to be 100% organic in comparison to other fast food restaurants that use inorganic or “100% beefish” meat products. Chipotle could have used real life actors to act out the sequence of events but by them using a computer generated image, it was captured my attention more due to the art style used within the advertisement.
I also used a Chiptole advertisement for my group post. It was also an animated cartoon. I feel like this attracts the people who watch this because it is appealing. This is similar to my video because it also talks about different kinds of cultivation. The descriptions were helpful for learning more about the video. The details said about that mechanical crow was vivid. Knowing that you watched the video three times made me think that visually the animations are important for the ad. I felt like this video was a good choice for the group project.

This video had so may aspects to talk about. The animation is perfect. The Storyline is perfect. The message is perfect. This advertisement portrays its viewers that the chipotle is not made out of animals that are abused but rather are made by local farmers and are made from home grown products. The scare crows is an excellent representation of humans. It helps to add to the effect of the video and makes it different from any other animation about pro all natural products which usually include hipsters and young folks. It tells its consumers about the secrets behind the products that are made using animal abuse and unnatural materials. All in all this video was a good representation of a meaningful ad with cute cartoon characters.
This commercial is somehow related to my group’s because it conveys the same message of animal cruelty and processes they had to go through. The color scheme used is really effective like, in factories those crow robots working had their eyes red which is a sign of evilness and how those robots stares clearly demonstrated that they didn’t like it being notices by any outsider. Music has also played a major role the ups and downs in it indicates how the situation changes. Overall, this is an amazing ad which takes off the mask from those cruel businesses.
The commercial is quite interesting because a big fast food chain restaurant like Chipotle decides to use show the dark side of the food industry. Chipotle’s main message in the commercial is that they make their food fresh not like other fast food restaurant who are falsely advertising their food. From the commercial the scarecrow works for a big factory that abuse animals by injecting into chickens or over using the cows and in the front of their advertisement is that is all natural. You can see the scarecrow isn’t please as he is told to fix and hide all the wrong doings. In the end, he creates his own store which is marketing Chipotle, sending the message that Chipotle’s food is all natural.
Great choice of ad, and the entire group made some really wonderfully specific comments: a really nice discussion of color (the comment about the washed out effect is quite a subtle and perceptive observation); a choice of the specific images of the crow and the scarecrow; a discussion of sound (and the videographers assume you have all seen Willy Wonka, where this piece has an entirely different effect, and yes, now it is truly creepy and sad); a reference to background, which is always important. Think about the other images choses, the world that we have created, according to the videographers. Think, too, about Chipotle’s intended demographic, as we continue discussing this on Wed.
Great job!
Very interesting advertisement. I had no idea it was for a game until the end. It was interesting that they had a backstory to the game and tried to incorporate that into the selling point. The use of color and the animated figures made the ad interesting to look at and kept my attention. It reminded me of watching pixar movies. I believe the ad contained huge amounts of symbolism and truly showed how some of the world is closed off to the world of animal cruelty and GMOs.
