It’s hard to define a person entirely. Although there’s nobody who knows me better than myself, even I’m constantly surprised by my actions and reactions. Simply put, I’m a mess of contradictions – I’m a master procrastinator, but I work well under time constraints. I love meeting new people, but I’m a horrible at public speaking. I like chocolate but hate chocolate flavored snacks. But I guess that’s what makes me interesting!
As a freshman, I have the same concerns as everybody else. First, time management. The course load builds up quickly so it’s important to be on top of it. Second, keeping my grades up! I’m determined to do well academically – even if math is my weak point. And finally, finding my own social comfort zone in a school where most students commute right after their classes.
I didn’t enter Baruch with high expectations, but to my relief, Baruch has exceeded those expectations. The overall environment has been great – the down-to-earth friendly people, good professors in most subject areas, and just being in the center of a busy city. I love not having to wake up at 6AM to get to school on time and the flexible schedule. I believe my first year at Baruch will prove to bring great times and memories.
