My name is Stephanie Reyes. I am 27 years old and a full-time student at Baruch College of CUNY. I am in my senior year of my undergrad. I am an Executive Board member of the Debate Team of Baruch College. I am currently studying Political Science and Communications. I plan to attend Law School when I graduate and practice Law in New York City. However, I wish to simultaneously attain a dual degree such as an MBA and JD. With this specific degree choice, I plan to practice in the field of Corporate Law or Property Law which I have not decided.
Throughout my college career up until now, I have been keeping an extremely open mind about everything. I changed my interest and career path several times before I finally developed a strong interest in Law and Finance. Aside from my academic interest and passions, I have an even deeper passion for fitness, wellness, and nutrition. My journey with health all started back in the year 2020 at Baruch College and has been since a sustained and reliable foundation when setting myself up for career success. Overall my mental health and physical health had improved drastically. I enjoy moving my body and giving it purpose. This passion/lifestyle was the driving force behind my decision to join the NCAA Division III Women’s Varsity Tennis team of Baruch College in which we received the CUNYAC Championship title for the year 2021. I’m also an official SAAC member of Baruch performing as an active team Manager for the Men’s Varsity Baseball team of Baruch College Division III; a team that holds the title for 2022 CUNYAC Champions.
In addition, I plan to utilize the minor in communications by combining my skills and knowledge from that my studies and personal experience on health and wellness to influence my audience to embrace everyday fitness now; eat healthier now. Convincing my readers that changing their perspectives on wellness and getting real with their personal goals leads to a stronger more motivated mindset that can lead to amazing results in the long run. Moreover, I have completed my PT and CSNC (Certified Sports Nutrition Coach) certification under NASM (National Academy of Sports and Medicine). With these critical certifications, I can apply my skills and properly demonstrate/educate people about wellness. I have to say, If it wasn’t for my fitness and health journey amid the pandemic at the peak of my sophomore year as an undergrad student battling mental health during the time- I would not have evolved into the person I am today. A perspective so outgrown; that it no longer resonates or aligns with my future self and plans. The greatest gift that fitness has given me is confidence. It is how I remain assertive with myself and others; it is how I remain purposeful. I am grounded and rooted in my goals due to fitness, I am more motivated than I have ever been. It’s the infrastructure surrounding my success that is forever embedded in my routine. Fitness has ultimately given me grit.
