Blood Drive

For our “Bearcat” post we chose to go to the blood drive. A blood drive is all about helping others and part of student life is helping fellow students in times of need and promotes friendships. We saw this as a metaphor for our studies when we see someone is falling behind we tutor and help them so that they can continue and succeed.

Why Do British Students Want to Study in The US?

The raise in price on a british college education is pushing thousands of british student to the US. The price of a british education was free in the 1990’s but now with prices rising it is causing the student to come to the US. Although the prices are still much cheaper the fact that they have to pay is driving the british students here. This is relevant to student life because it gives students more opportunities and diversity in their peers.

Taking a Gap Year

This article looks at how taking a gap year can affect American students because gap years are very common in other parts of the world. There are organizations that have gap year programs both for profit and non-profit and part of the argument is that doing a gap year for profit can help with ones experience as well as pay for college. This is relevant to the student life theme because taking a year off from college can cause many differences like more outside experience and also entering into college with many younger students.
