Creating Content
Throughout the semester, students, in groups of four, are responsible for creating a blog post. In addition to the required posts below, please any posts on content that you find interesting that relates the course! Art, science, climate change, Anthropocene, etc…..
The required blog posts will be (1) summaries of your presentations, (2) instagram posts, and (3) brief summary of sessions held at CAA, the annual College Art Association Conference. Each CAA session consists of four twenty minutes papers. The presentation of the papers is followed either by a question and answer period or a response by a discussant, who is typically another scholar in the field. Each student is responsible for a 500 word summary of one of the papers. These papers will be uploaded as a blog post on our Blogs@Baruch site. The posts will include the summary text and image. Posts will address the following:
What is the subject of the paper?
What is the speaker’s thesis?
What examples does the speaker provide?
What conclusion or conclusions does the speaker draw at the end of the paper?
What is your response to the subject?
** Posts must be uploaded by midnight on the due date.
** Posts must include a citation that notes the conference and session date and speaker.
Responses
Each student is required to read and comment on each other’s blog posts by midnight the day after the blog is posted.
