Reflections/Questions
I would use this source in my paper to further support the idea of domestic violence becoming contemporary because of its relation to sports figures. This piece could really help me in my paper to support the relativity of domestic violence due to its relation with sports figures. |
Notes/Summary
The author of this source makes a point in saying that the attention of the public has more recently been drawn to this issue of domestic violence because is now concerns notable sports figures. The main purpose of this article is to bring attention to domestic violence and how many sports figures are involved with it. Paragraph three gives specific data about how many women suffer from domestic violence. Many women who are affected by domestic violence never receive or seek help. Reflections/Questions
One thing to question is why do people respond in such different ways. For examples, sponsors separated themselves from the Ravens team, however, the actual game between the Steelers and Ravens on Thursday September 11 received 20 million viewers. |

Reflections/Questions
I think the response by this group can further help me prove my point in this paper as to why so much emphasis is placed on domestic violence when it concerns these football players. |
Notes/Summary
This article shows how the women’s group UltraViolet has responded to the violence issues in the NFL. They believe that NFL commissioner Goodell and the NFL have not treated the situation correctly. This specific group took it a step further and protested saying that Goodell must go. Their goal is to raise awareness to the issue of domestic violence. The first step to raising awareness, is having the correct responses available to the public viewers. |
