Pryce Taylor is widely considered the best amatuer super heavyweight in New York and is undefeated in the city since 2017. Taylor won all the major tournaments in USA Boxing Metro, New York’s official local boxing commission, many times over.
Anytime Pryce goes to a boxing show, he is approached by many fans who take pictures with the heavyweight prospect. Taylor has had many shocking knockouts which made him a standout fighter and a fan favorite in New York.
Taylor’s favorite boxer is George Foreman, the former two time heavyweight champion who was famous for his devastating knockout power. Taylor says, “as a heavyweight, if your opponent can walk through your power, then they can knock you out.”
To develop his power, Taylor has a simple training regime which he follows consistently. He begins with a dynamic warm up consisting of jogging on a treadmill for ten minutes followed by stretching exercises. Then he does a circuit calisthenics workout in which does 30 Jumping jacks, 25 squats, 20 cherry picks ,15 burpees, 10 push ups twice.
Taylor shadow boxes for four rounds and hits the heavy bag three rounds on the heavy bag. In the first and final rounds he works on his power by punching with all his power while in the second round he works on speed with light fast snapping punches.
Afterwards he does a jump rope workout for five rounds with front, back, criss-cross, high knee, and double jump skips every respective round. Once he’s done skipping rope, he does a calisthenics workout with one hundred reps of push ups, pull ups, burpees and sit ups.
Taylor says that he travels all over NYC to spar. He says, “As a heavyweight it’s hard to get sparring so I have to go all over to find the best work.” Taylor says that his coach Benny Ramon is okay with him doing his own thing in training as long as he is loyal and stays with him when Taylor turns professional.
Taylor has been in training camps of many famous professional boxers all over the United States. He has been a sparring partner for Filip Hrgović, the tenth ranked heavyweight in the world according to Ring magazine and is the main sparring partner for Brandon Glanton, former WBO global cruiserweight champion.
As the top ranked Super Heavyweight in the USA, Taylor is paid by professional boxers to spar.
Goals

Taylor was competing in the 2023 Ringmasters tournament when he decided to become a professional boxer by signing up for the revolutionary Team Combat League (TCL) which is the first team format boxing league featuring boxing teams from multiple cities all over the United States. He represents New York City Attitude and is the number one seeded heavyweight in the league.
Taylor says that he is currently participating in TCL to earn some extra cash and afterwards is planning to fight regular professional bouts. He is willing to fight anyone and has aspirations of becoming the heavyweight champion of the world. For this goal, Taylor understands that he has to stay active and constantly compete so that he can get a ranking to fight for championships.
Taylor hopes that the exposure he gets from TCL will peak the interests of major boxing promotion companies such as Matchroom boxing and Top Rank. For now, Taylor’s goal is to win TCL for New York Attitude and get the one hundred-thousand-dollar cash prize for his team.
