Although some may find pleasure in isolation, the real threat isn’t so much pleasure but technology. Why would technology be a threat? The sad truth is that large company’s such as Apple or Samsung are brainwashing this society into believing that the only form of communication and entertainment depends on the possession of an electronic device. Technology has ways of bringing people together, but can also make us lonelier. Mobile phones in particular mean that we are never out of touch with each other, but we experience a dire cost when we share public space with other people absorbed in their own private experiences. These aspects of technology can be truly isolating.

According to analyst company Gartner it secured 15.6% of the smartphone market share in 2013, coming second to Samsung.
- In Samsung’s second-quarter earnings report revenue in the latest quarter fell 7 percent to $41 billion from $44.5 billion one year ago, and net profit dropped 8 percent to $4.9 billion from $5.3 billion in the second quarter of 2014. The company’s mobile products revenue, including smartphones, fell 6.86 percent in the second quarter to $21.7 billion, down from $23.3 billion one year ago.
