My journey through ENG2100 has been an incredible one, particularly as it signifies my return to the USA after completing high school in Bangladesh. Initially, I found it challenging to keep pace with my fellow classmates and adapt to the academic system. However, with time and the unwavering support of everyone, especially our professor, I began to not only understand but also enjoy ENG2100.

The course has played a pivotal role in honing my skills in text analysis,  poetry, and creative writing. Out of these, I found creative writing to be the most enjoyable. It allowed me to express my imagination freely, crafting stories and narratives that were not bound by strict guidelines. This form of writing resonated with me, as it provided a platform to explore different perspectives and experiment with unique styles.

A particularly memorable highlight has been the exploration of poetry, particularly the works of Edgar Allan Poe. This experience ignited a huge interest in the world of poetry, inspiring me to read and compose verses throughout my summer vacation.

Organization is an aspect that causes me some anxiety. Ensuring that my ideas are presented in a coherent and logical manner can be challenging, as I want my writing to be easy for readers to follow and comprehend. Interestingly, while I enjoy creative writing, I tend to feel less enthusiastic about descriptive writing. The task of vividly describing scenes or environments in detail can sometimes feel overwhelming, and I find myself struggling to strike the right balance between being descriptive and not overloading the text with unnecessary information.

From this class, I aim to gain the ability to articulate my ideas eloquently in writing. I want to master the art of presenting complex concepts in a clear and engaging manner. I would also like to strengthen my grammar and sentence structure which would contribute to clearer communication. Lastly, I want to develop a distinct voice that can effectively connect with readers on a profound level.

Overall, I recognize that this course serves as a foundational step toward my aspiration of becoming a more eloquent, thoughtful, and impactful writer. Hence, I am ready to embrace this journey with enthusiasm and determination, for each lesson learned takes me closer to achieving my goals.
