“Climate changes and adoption “

Agriculture plays a crucial role in human activity; it is the most widespread human interaction with the environment and is central to human health and well-being. People currently live in a post-industrial information age, but no one will ever live in a post-agricultural world. The impact of climate change on global agriculture becomes a big concern for the planet due to the intricate relationship between climate patterns and agricultural productivity.

The first article that I analyzed is “The Social, Cultural and Economic Implications of Climate Change” by Charlie Fletcher. He discusses climate change issues that are leading to an increase in global temperatures. While this might be beneficial in some regions with colder climates, it poses risks in areas that are already warm. In most developing countries a government cannot invest finances and the resources to help their people and mitigate environmental disasters the way other cultures do. As a result, most of them are actively suffering from massive amounts of pollution and lack of natural resources like food and water, as well as being at greater risk of developing illnesses and contracting diseases. The goal of this article was to inform readers about the risks that climate change and global warming poses to the very way that we live life by providing different examples. It points out the effects that it has on our health and our cities if we don’t start altering the way we live now.  The article is informative and cites reviewed sources. Fletcher breaks down what is talked about into different sections, with an introduction, details of the topics at hand, and ends with a conclusion that asks the future implications of the impacts and causes of climate change.

Pathos:

An author of article uses a vivid description of struggling people and the younger generation because of climate conditions, including the impact on urban infrastructure, and change on human and mental health. It appeals to readers’ emotions and concerns. Imagery of drought-stricken fields and the potential for famine creates a sense of urgency.

Logos:

Logical appeals are evident through statistical data on temperature changes, supply chain and urban infrastructure. The article systematically presents evidence to support the claim that climate change by providing different examples.

In contrast, another great article “What Is Climate Adaptation and Why Is It Key to Our Survival? “By author Joe McCarthy explains a rhetorical strategy to effectively convey the reader about climate adaptation in the face of global climate change. He uses as an example Typhoon Ondoy struck the Philippines. People who lived there did not want to leave that place because they raised their families and earned their livelihoods. As a result, they started working with a government, and international to create a model or plan for solving an issue to obtain a climate adaptation, or the process of adjusting to the worsening effects of current and future climate changes. They selected a specific location that reduce the risk of flooding and erected buildings with stronger materials that could resist winds and flooding and placed a key infrastructure like water tanks to be out of harm’s way. This idea becomes saucerful, so now people are ready and can resist for climate changes. Article appeals to emotion, and the presentation of compelling evidence, the rhetorical analysis of this article reveals its persuasive intent. There is a logical appeal of the article that lies in presenting a structured argument. It introduces the idea of climate adaptation, outlines its key principles, and systematically explains its necessity for human survival. According to the article, climate adaptation is any measure that defends the community or ecosystem from the climate change effects while also building long-term resilience to a changing environment. Author also mentions the role of improved government policies, especially those that integrate climate change response to the long-term sustainability and success of climate adaptation initiatives.

Moreover, Joe McCarthy gives to reader a logical appeal of the article that lies in presenting a structured argument like a concept of climate adaptation, outlines its key principles, and systematically explains its necessity for human survival. He uses a logical progression on a idea convincing readers of the interconnectedness of climate adaptation with various aspects of life.

To sum up, both authors used a rhetorical analysis that reveals that the article employs a combination of ethos, pathos, and logos to effectively communicate the urgency and importance of climate adaptation to face global issues. In both article authors use language, evidence, and emotional appeals to the reader of the critical role that adaptation plays in ensuring the survival of ecosystems and safe communities.
