Art Smart Group is based in Corona Queens can provide services such as graphic designs, banners, animation video, photography, social media management, printing, websites. Small details that will allow your business to look professional, unique and modern. Two siblings are the owners of this printing company, Michael Mendoza and Cathy Purdy. For the past three years Corona, Queens has been their home, they are ready to expand their office in different locations within the borough .
Purdy mentioned “Every new account and recurring business is a direct result of all the hard work you and your team put in. It’s an amazing feeling to see it all come together, all the brainstorming being brought to life, pushes you to aim for bigger goals”
Art Smart Group has been a well known business due to their creative ideas, they have also gained recognition with banners, posters and flyers that are being seen all over Queens. Becoming an entrepreneur was not planned for Purdy, although she graduated from college with a business major she was a controller for eight years. Mendoza has been in the design industry for the past fifteen years and pitched an idea to Purdy to open their own printing company.
Mendoza mentioned “We chose Queens because we wanted to bring job opportunities to people within our neighborhood, the commute is simpler and we noticed there weren’t too many printing companies nearby.” Mendoza is a graphic designer who is passionate to think outside the box and get creative with every project that presents itself.
Art Smart Group has a family ambiance in the office, there are four employees in total. This allows each client to get to know the team and build a strong relationship every time they stop by. Due to the fact that it is a small staff, there are challenges that present themselves which is normal for every entrepreneur.
A normal day in the office is constant phone calls, busy with meetings, deadlines and although it is hectic its very rewarding to see the progress.
Mendoza mentioned, “Having a great team by your side is important, knowing that you’re helping other business’ grow along the way is always a bonus. Besides being able to make your own schedule, there is a lot of work that goes on off the clock, especially when there are plenty of deadlines due on the same day.”
“Getting new business, keeping clients happy, staying relevant within social media and constantly coming up with trends and ideas that can set you apart from other business’ is always going to be the reason we invest in the long hours at work,” Purdy said. “Even when you clock out your mind is still thinking of how you can out do your last project”
