Here is a small cheat sheet reviewing the Panasonic TM900 discussed in class.
Remember to power camera/battery. Power charging port found on top of camera under flap.
Remember if you are changing recording setup, you must have function turned to video record function (not still camera function, or play function). Found on top of camera with pics of camera, video camera and play arrow. Menu options on window will be different for all of these.
Turn off camera and insert SD card
Menu (menu button bottom left on screen) Setup: Format Media to erase and format SD card
Menu: Media Select:Choose SD card, NOT Built-In Memory.
Menu: Record Setup: Recording Format. Choose HA1920. If you are prevented from selecting this option, it is because your camera is in 1080/60p mode. To turn off this mode, click the 1080/60p button that is on the camera body to the right of the power button. (shown to you in class)
Menu: Record Setup: Record Lamp – Turn off.
Menu: Record Setup: Backlight compensation (you may want to turn on if you have a bright light behind your subject). Or Color Night Rec (if you are recording in dark setting). Only use record effects that help you get a better picture, not ones that add a “filter” effect.
