HUMAN POWER – Statement

HUMAN POWER is a very personal piece. I will write about it in first person. Here, I aim to condense the last five months of my life into a three and a half minute video. In contrast to my previous three projects where I was the observer, HUMAN POWER makes me into the subject of every shot. The places shown are my most frequented locations. The poem I have chosen was strung together with fragments of different things I have read this semester. HUMAN POWER explores themes of desperation, isolation, nihilism, and self-absorption. This piece takes the viewer through a representation of my own search for clarity and hope.
