About

Waiting on Brooklyn is a blog created by a 22 year old waitress in South Brooklyn. The purpose of my blog is to go behind the scenes and convey the truth about life in the food service industry, through a series of portraits and experiences. Throughout the blog you’ll find raw stories told by servers in Brooklyn, New York.

Working in the food service industry (especially in NYC) is one of the most underrated jobs out there. As a person with experience in the industry, I wanted to be able to create a platform where people could open up about their lives in the industry, giving others a glimpse of what it’s like to be on the other end of the receipt pad.

Waiting on Brooklyn is a place for all those in the service industry to come back to and remind themselves that yes, there are other people who put themselves through the same torture you do for a living. And no, you’re not the only one who’s thought about saying that to a customer.

This blog will hear a different Brooklyn server’s voice every week and give you the truth about the service industry on a silver platter.
