Thomas the Train!

Below is a sketch of a childhood toy that I used to play with all the time – Thomas the Train.

I used to get wooden train track sets and run wooden Thomas along the tracks.

I’m not sure why I loved him so much, but I was would always get happy when I saw him.

I believe I loved playing with him because I wasn’t constrained and had the freedom to let Thomas go wherever I wanted – the sense of freedom combined with the connection to a moving thing was exhilarating to me as a kid, thus making me love playing with him!
