The article that I chose was called “What makes a good race joke.” This article proposes the idea of comedy as of recently, having a lot of problems especially due to cancel culture developing. Comedians such as Aparna Nancherla, Brian Bahe and Maz Jobrani makes an appearance to defend their case on why these jokes are implemented at their shows. My personal opinion on this matter is that most of the times jokes about race are extremely funny and if it is done out of a joking matter it shouldn’t be taken too serious and blown out of proportion. A lot of people are too sensitive and in some situations I could understand why people would get mad. As far as the comedians points of view I agree with them especially the one point being that even if the joke isn’t directly about race it is always about race because the person saying it is a man of color. I thought this topic was extremely interesting and important to touch on and everyone presented fair arguements.

  1. I agree with you argument. Me personally I’m not the type to get mad if a joke is made about my race. I understand why people find it offensive and sometimes a race joke could go a little too far.
