A memorial that I had once visited was the 9/11 memorial. It was an enormous grey fountain in which water fell straight from it. On the fountain were engraved names of the people who lost their lives in the tragic accident. Fortunately I wasn’t born at the time of 9/11 so I don’t really know much about the accident, but my parents were in newYork at the time and I know many people who were alive to witness the event and so they tell me about what happened. what stuck with me at the memorial was the water constantly falling from the fountain. it seemed as if it would forever flow from the fountain, kind of like a symbol as to show that we shall never forget what happened on this day, and we should always remember the people who lost their lives that day. I feel the qualities that made this memorial very successful was the fact that they made it very big so no one would be able to walk past it without taking a glance at the beautiful sight. this is my memory of the 9/11 memorial.

Yeah, I agree with you the fountain is a symbolic remembrance of those who lost their lives in that tragic event. I just googled that “the waterfalls are intended to mute the sounds of the city, making the site a contemplative sanctuary.”
I like how you connected the water falling to a symbol of memory. I’ve seen this memorial too once and I think that the water sounds very peaceful and it is a beautiful memoriam for those who passed and their families.
