This person didn’t necessarily die, but I have lost some touch with them since we started going to different schools after middle school. She is one of my closets friends whom I’ve known for as long as I can remember. She is very much still alive and well and we do contact each other from time to time. Her name is Darina and we are both attending college at the moment.
You should hang out with her during winter break.

I also lost much contact with friends after middle school but they are the ones I remember the most.
