What does Thanksgiving Mean?

I like celebrating thanksgiving because it brings my whole family together and we eat a lot of food. This holiday does make me feel grateful for the good memories I’ve had with my family and the time we spent with each other. I do think these articles encompass the breadth of thanksgiving because everyone has their own meaning of thanksgiving. I could relate to one of the stories in the article, especially disconnecting our electronic devices to connect with others. My family is pretty strict about having our phones when we are dining because it’s disrespectful when we should dedicate our time to our family.

Thanksgiving means to me, as eating a variety of foods and spending time with family. I think it also means the same thing to other people because people do tend to eat a lot during thanksgiving. Though, thanksgiving has changed for me over time because as a kid, I enjoyed it more and I had fun being with all my cousins. But now that I’m older, things have changed in my family and people started to get distant because they also had their own lives. Now I see thanksgiving as a day we eat so much food. A thanksgiving tradition I will like to create as I get older is playing games to keep my family entertained.

  1. The food is a good aspect. But the way I see Thanksgiving has also changed, mostly because i’m the selfish kid I used to be. I see Thanksgiving as a day to appreciate those around you, even if it’s only a handful of people.

  2. I like what Thanksgiving means to you. It was kind of similar to mine except my family was never really big on Thanksgiving so we’d just eat rice and turkey. I used to think Thanksgiving was a great time to meet up with family but after my realization. Thanksgiving just became any other holiday with food which is quite boring if you ask me.
