If you could teach your children one thing – what would it be?
My name is Ariana and I’m from Queens. My favorite show to watch during fall is Gilmore girls and I love Starbucks. Now answering the question, if I could teach children one thing it would be to be more honest. Especially nowadays that we live in a world full of corruption and constant conflicts. I believe that honesty, although may not be powerful enough to end all the problems in the world, would help avoid many of them. To me, honesty means a lot because there is no better feeling than being able to trust someone, even if that someone is yourself. It is immensely important to be able to be honest with oneself, so that you can be it with everybody else.
Interviewing Catherine
During class I interviewed Catherine. She is 19 years old and commutes from Brooklyn. I asked her what her most prized object was, to which she replied, her jewelry that her family had given her since that gave it a lot of value. She is very family oriented since what she looks forward to the most is to spend time with her family. What brings her greatest happiness when she thinks back on her life so far are her achievements in school because of the hard work she put in to get where she wanted to be. and lastly what motivates her the most to get up in the morning is school because it is going to put her in a better position far in life.
Hey Ariana, I just wanna say how much I agree with and respect you and your values. The one you chose to show here was honesty which I also believe to be one of if not the most important attributes required to be successful in life.
After reading your introduction Ariana I really thought about the part where you said it is important to be honest with yourself because in todays society many people basically gaslight themselves into thinking they’re being honest with themselves, however in reality they are simply just hurting themselves mentally. If more people read your message I feel like more individuals would take a moment and really try to understand what being true to themselves.
Ariana, I totally agree with what you would change. Honesty is something that you don’t find very often and it should definitely be used more often. I love Starbucks as well but I’ve never watched Gilmore girls so maybe that’ll be my fall show that I watch
I love Starbucks too, I drink it every morning! I think your response to that question was simple but very powerful because honesty is very important to me as well. I work with kids and for my class, I even have a whole lesson on why honesty is the best policy. I think that at a young age, it’s important to learn that, or else lying becomes a habit.
