Hi Everyone,

It was good to see everyone again today (though I wish I would have seen everyone today). I think we had a productive peer review session. Here are some important announcements:

• For Wednesday, please download and read this excerpt from the Hidden Life of Trees. Write down a some notes about sections that interested you. We’ll talk about the reading for a few minutes at the beginning of class and then we’ll make our way to Madison Square Park to spend some time paying attention to the world outside our heads. I’ll give you a hard copy of the brief assignment connected to our park trip before we go outside but you can click here to see it too. Make sure to bring a pad of paper and a pen/pencil.
• I’ll publish a separate blog post (right after this one) with a link to the Dropbox folder for turning in your research essay.
• As we discussed in class today, we’ll end this semester with two class meetings devoted to your research presentations. Click here to see the assignment, which reflects exactly what I described in class today. Please also note that the two presentation days will be May 13th and May 15th (not May 15th and 20th as originally posted on the syllabus).
