Black Panthers Film

Contrary to common misconceptions, the Black Panthers were not a radical and violent group. Instead, they focused on promoting black empowerment to address oppression. In the film, it was evident that many people misunderstand the true objectives of the Panthers. The film highlighted how music and cultural elements were utilized to show the Panthers community-driven purpose. This resonated with me, as it reflects the tendency in our society to unfairly label individuals and groups without adequate understanding. Society often lacks a factual basis for its stereotypes, . Through this film, it becomes evident that the Panthers fought to rectify the injustices of a deeply prejudiced America, rather than instigate violence or chaos.

  1. It is really depressing how society always tends to unfairly label and stereotype groups of people without doing more research on that group to get a better understanding of them. I also find it interesting how you mentioned that the Panthers used music to further their purpose. I did not know that.
