7 Day Journal

Day 1: I’m currently familiarizing myself with the project and trying to determine exactly what my tasks are. It came as a surprise to learn that this project involves editing Wikipedia, especially since I’ve always been warned against using it in my academic work. Learning about the Women in Red initiative was enlightening and helped explain the reasons behind our use of Wikipedia for this project. Additionally, choosing a username was somewhat challenging because I wanted to avoid anything that might affect how my articles are viewed.

Day 2: I’m having trouble deciding on a person for my research. I don’t have a clear idea of whom to choose. I’ve looked through the list and found a few names that caught my interest, but there’s little information available about them when I search online. I didn’t anticipate that choosing a research topic would be this challenging, but considering it’s part of the Women in Red project, it makes sense that there isn’t much information readily available about these women.

Day 3: Now that I’ve chosen who to research, I’m struggling to find information about them. I’ve only managed to find one article that gave me some details about Helen Plummer. Unfortunately, there isn’t much else available on her.

Day 4: I’ve decided to take a break from my research to play the adventure game on Wikipedia. Initially, it was a bit confusing. I felt like I might be playing it incorrectly, so I decided to give it another try on a different day. I managed to complete the game today, but I’m still not entirely sure if I did everything right because it was quite confusing. However, I did manage to pick up a few tips on how to navigate and contribute to Wikipedia along the way.

Day 5: Searching for more sources hasn’t been easy. I did find another one, but I clearly need more. This part of the project has been tough, and it looks like it’s going to take some time to gather all the sources I need.

Day 6: After some searching, I’ve managed to find another source. The progress I’ve made so far has made it clear that not all the information I need can be found quickly, especially for this project.

Day 7: The sources I’ve found so far could be helpful, but I’m still working to find a variety of sources. I’m currently on the lookout for videos or other unique types of sources to use. I’ll keep pushing forward with my research, although it would have been nicer if finding sources wasn’t so challenging.
