Step 2: Decide & Research Outline

Goal:

  • Decide on either a magazine article or an animation. Begin creating a rough draft of how the research should be communicated and presented.
    • Magazine Article Decided
      • Create an outline of information to be used in the article

Process:

In the interest of time, I decided to make a magazine article. An animation would have been very fun to do, and I would have loved to explore the option, but I feel that it is simply not feasible to do so within the given time frame. And, if I did attempt to do it, it would be mediocre at best due to limitations.

I think creating a magazine article would be a great way to present the information I will gather about the given topic. I think magazine articles represent a harmonious union between text and graphic entities, all working together to deliver information as painlessly as possible in order to bypass the cognitive miserliness of the reader.

I thoroughly read through my sources and created an outline of the information that I felt would be most useful. I did so by focusing primarily on the topic of environmental sustainability, and avoiding being distracted by all other forms of sustainability (such as economic).

Outcome:

3DP X ES Research Notes
