Thus far, I have learned to be both persistent and patient in learning how to use new design software like Sketchup and Meshlab. I have never used digital design software before and I was initially worried that the learning curve would be steep. However, I have found that thinking creatively and analyzing all potential solutions to problems before choosing the best one helps in both my learning of Sketchup and more generally in design problems. The building blocks and 5 objects homework assignments presented several design challenges.  I was initially not sure how to go about making my design ideas for these assignments into a reality. Persistent research on how to use Sketchup and trial and error were paramount in solving the design challenges.

I would bring my ability to conduct research and implement suggestions on how to use Sketchup to make design ideas a reality to my group. I can further develop my strengths by practicing with Sketchup, brainstorming ideas and experimenting with other design software, like Sculptris. I would also bring my openness to crazy ideas to my group. I am partial to crazy turkey hat thinking and enjoy experimenting to find ways to make design ideas a reality.
